Earth Beat: a 5Rhythms Journey for Earth Day
With Samar Linn and Sally Eccleston
A ritual dance journey with the elements. This Earth Day, we gather in movement and ritual - to honour the Earth that holds us and the elemental pulse that lives within us.
Wednesday April 22nd
6:45-8:45PM
Chinley Community Centre
Earth Beat is a guided 5Rhythms® wave infused with somatic ritual, mantra, and embodied meditation. Together we’ll move through the map of the 5Rhythms — grounding, flowing, igniting, softening, and stilling — as a living expression of the elements.
This is not a performance.
It is not about getting it right.
It is a space to remember that you are nature — alive, rhythmic, electric, and deeply rooted.
What to Expect
A Ritual Opening
We begin by arriving together.
Sally will guide a short welcome with mantra, energy body awareness, visualisation and gentle somatic practices to help you land — in your body, in the space, and in connection with the Earth beneath you.
You’ll be invited to:
Sense gravity and ground
Awaken the subtle currents of your energy body
Connect with Earth as living presence
Set a personal intention for your dance
The 5Rhythms Wave
Samar will then guide you through a full 5Rhythms journey — a dynamic movement meditation where music becomes the teacher and the body becomes the guide.
The wave moves through five fundamental energies:
Flowing – grounding, circular, connected
Staccato – clear, expressive, rhythmic
Chaos – wild, electric, releasing
Lyrical – light, playful, expansive
Stillness – spacious, integrated, present
The music rises and falls like a tide. You’ll be supported to explore your own elemental expression — earth, water, fire, air, and space — in a way that feels authentic to you.
No choreography.
No steps to learn.
Just your body in motion.
The 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice that seamlessly blends dance, self-expression and meditation in the same breath. Each rhythm carries its own intelligence and elemental vibration. Each body holds its own wisdom and unique expression. The music rises and falls like a wave as you’re guided on a journey through the five fundamental life energies + elements. A potent way to connect with yourself, community and nature all around us.
On this journey, you’ll find 3 essential ingredients:
Freedom to be: You’re invited to let go of the thinking mind, explore physical and emotional landscapes without any pressure of performance or “getting it right”
Invitations, not instructions: You’ll receive impulses and ideas to explore different aspects of movement and self-expression. Most importantly, you’ll be encouraged to follow what feels true for you.
Presence: Dance becomes a meditation in motion, inviting presence directly through the body in each movement. As you feel the music and let the dance move you, your thoughts will be allowed to quiet down.

Shake the Dust
“Don’t get stuck where it feels good”
What is Shake the Dust?
Shake the Dust is more than just a workout- it’s a transformative, embodied practice of the body, heart, and mind, and a form of activism through movement.
Each session invites you to shake off what no longer serves, personally and collectively, and to reclaim your body as a powerful tool for change.
Guided by a poetic theme and an epic playlist, we move together through waves of shaking, jumping, resting, dancing, intuitive flow, plus elements of yoga, Pilates, somatics, and bodyweight strength work.
This is a space where movement becomes a statement, where you can sweat, release, and build a resilient body while also grounding into the values and vision for a better world. This is a practice for ALL.
Whether you’re a yogi, a seeker, or simply ready to move with purpose, Shake the Dust is your invitation to take up space, break patterns, and come alive.
Deep Rest Reset
Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra & Somatic Unwinding
Unwind, restore, and reset with 90 minutes of deep rest.
This session is an invitation to step out of the usual pace of life and into a slower, more supported space where your body can soften, your nervous system can settle, and you can simply be.
We’ll begin with gentle restorative yoga, using props to fully support the body in rest. From here, you’ll be guided into somatic unwinding practices, allowing space to release tension and reconnect with subtle sensation.
The session will close with Yoga Nidra - a guided meditation designed to bring you into a state of deep rest, somewhere between waking and sleeping, where the body can restore and the mind can quieten.
This is a quiet, nourishing space. There is nothing to achieve, nowhere to get to, just an opportunity to rest more deeply than you might usually allow.
This session may support you if you:
Feel tired, overwhelmed, or mentally busy
Struggle to fully switch off or relax
Are holding tension or stress in the body
Want to support your nervous system and overall wellbeing

Return: A Summer Afternoon Gathering
An afternoon to slow down, soften, and come back to yourself in the company of like minded others.
As we move into the early days of summer, this gathering offers a gentle pause. A chance to step away from the usual pace of life and into something more spacious, embodied, and connected.
We begin at the community centre, taking time to land and settle, before moving into a guided somatic yoga practice. This will be slow, accessible, and focused on reconnecting with the body through breath, sensation, and simple movement.
From here, we walk together to a nearby sauna space. The walk becomes part of the experience, an opportunity to arrive more fully, to notice the body in motion, and to transition into the next part of the afternoon.
At the sauna, you’ll be invited into a gentle rhythm of heat, cold, and rest in small groups. This is a space to soften, release, and reconnect both inwardly and with the elements.
There will be time to rest, reflect, or quietly connect while waiting for your sauna session or afterwards.
We’ll then walk back together and close the afternoon with a short, grounded circle, allowing time to integrate and gently return before heading home.
🌿 What’s included:
Opening circle + gentle arrival
40-minute somatic yoga practice
Group walk to and from the sauna (approx. 30 minutes each way)
Private sauna experience (in small groups) - we will have exclusive access to the sauna, cold tub and outdoor space at this time

What are others saying?
“I was fortunate to secure a place on Sally’s Spring Equinox Day Retreat in March 2024, and the experience was truly sublime. I’ve done a couple of other retreat events with Sally but you never know what she has in store for you! From the moment of arriving, I instantly felt at peace; the pretty location and light airy space, with gorgeous scents and music filling the room, accompanied by sounds of the river flowing by outside; every detail created a perfect idyll of relaxation and comfort. The day was arranged to include variety, a lot of warmth and joy, at times challenging in an enriching way, like a personal journey of self-rediscovery and release from unwanted strains and negativity. Our break for a delicious wholesome lunch added to the nourishing benefits of the day. The experience is wholly rejuvenating and beautiful in so many ways, a treat for the soul and senses, Sally’s retreat events are by far one of my most favourite days of the year. Thank you so much Sally for making this possible, you are a treasure I am so privileged to know!”
“I really enjoyed Sallys spring reset retreat, the setting ( wellness centre in Whaley Bridge) is perfect, the river runs alongside & the room is bright & warm. Sallys approach to yoga is really refreshing & professional, the day was very well planned & the music was in keeping with the atmosphere. The food was delicious & fresh. The day flew by, I think all of us went alone, such a lovely group of people of different ages & abilities, everyone was catered for and given alternatives. I left the day feeling calm, controlled and very relaxed. Thank you Sally , hopefully see you soon.”
“I’ve never attended a wellness retreat before and Sally made me and everyone else feel really, really at ease the whole day. There was so much variety in the activities throughout the day making it exciting. Leading up to the day I had been feeling really tense physically and mentally, as well as a bit bored with things in everyday life. By the end I felt powerful, calm and ready for the next big changes in my life, with a much less busy mind. Plus the social aspect of meeting other lovely women was really nourishing after all the disconnection during the lockdowns. If you’re interested in any aspect of a retreat with Sally just go along and enjoy it- she makes it so easy!”
““Spending a day with Sally and meeting brilliant new women on the new moon retreat was everything I needed to help banish the stresses of the last year. It was in the most incredible setting and I came away feeling refreshed and renewed and floated in to my week. The day just flew by and had so many treats in store - aside from the delicious food - that made it great value for money””
“I went to this last Sunday and it was amazing. The session was invigorating and relaxing for both body and mind and Sally is just lovely. It really set me up for the week ahead.
I know that it might seem expensive vs a gym class or membership but they’re not comparable. I absolutely can’t wait for the next one.”
“There are so many wonderful things I would love to say about the retreats I have been on with Sally but as this is a review and not a book, I will keep it short!
I have been on 2 retreats now, an all-day one and a 4-hour afternoon one. Going in I felt a little tired and disconnected with myself, the way the retreats are structured ensures you float out feeling completely the opposite, I felt invigorated, sure of myself and knew what I needed to do to regain some of that connection .
I loved the cocoa ceremony at the beginning, and this is something I have brought into my day-to-day life, I loved shake the dust yoga and found allowing myself to move in whatever way I wanted entirely profound! I now have mat sessions in which I just move, however I like, I feel free and at ease with the world again!
The food on both of the retreats was excellent, everything was plant based, I was inspired to bring a little more plant based into my life! The truffles! Oh my gosh the truffles!
The goody bags were an amazing touch, a nice little addition to my home practice, allowing me to bring a little relaxation home with me!
All in all I loved every minute of these retreats, they were what I never knew I needed in my life! Oh and of course there is Sally! A wonderful, serene, judgement free, joyous woman!”
