“I started Sally Yin Yoga class on a Tuesday Evening 12 weeks ago. I can honestly say this is the best decision I have ever made. Not knowing anything about Yoga I started the beginners class with Inner Health Yoga, which I can say is extremely friendly and don’t be afraid to go by yourself as I did. Sally is a lovely teacher, her voice is very relaxing & calming! I had been looking at Yoga for a while, however as I was very stiff and not exercised for a while I didn’t think I would be able to do it, but just after a couple of weeks and Sally’s help I could touch my toes and feel very happy and relaxed.

Yin Yoga is a slow paced style of Yoga that you hold the poses for a few minutes and works by stimulating the meridians. The Poses you get into, stretches the tissues of the body that increases circulation in the joints improving flexibility. Yin Yoga is more of a slow meditative approach to Yoga that leaves you feeling stress free, relaxed, and flexible. You will feel that relaxed you will sleep like a log! It also gives you the most wonderful feeling of love …who wouldn’t want that! So just after 12 weeks, I am more flexible than I ever thought I could be! More relaxed as this gives you the teaching on how to silence the inner self. Feeling of happiness and being able to sleep a lot better what is not to love about Yoga! It’s extremely addictive. Thank you to Inner Health Yoga, Ruth and Sally for making me a happier and more flexible healthy person!”

Family Yoga

Membership

“2020 has been quite a tough year, working long hours from home during lockdown and living on my own means that my space doesn’t always feel relaxed. Luckily, I started my yoga journey with Sally at the beginning of the year and was able to continue through lockdown thanks to her online live classes and, more recently, the unlimited membership. I now have the live class every Monday to look forward to after work (Monday tends to be the hardest day of the week so perfect timing!). It is my favourite part of the week! The classes are particularly helping to decompress after spending all day sat on a dining room chair to work. I also love the content to watch at any time. For example, when I’m struggling with a little insomnia, I can get up and do a cosy flow! I also like to repeat classes as then I can track my progress with the more challenging videos. I can’t emphasise enough how huge the impact yoga has had on me this year - I have suffered with IBS for over 10 years, with a particularly difficult past 18 months trialling new medication which partially eliminates one symptom but then brings along another. With the extra time to dedicate to yoga during lockdown, I’ve been able to come off my medication and use yoga instead as a tool to destress and reduce inflammation in my body. And this has been signed off by my GP, who is as thrilled as me! Thank you Sally, this has made such a positive impact to my physical and mental wellbeing :) sometimes the stress of a chronic condition is as frustrating as the condition itself! Sally is a great teacher, helping me achieve postures that seemed out of reach only a few months ago. She helps each person in the class with any particular adjustments they may need and so you always feel you can push yourself forward safely 🙂 ”

Workshops


I did my first workshop this weekend with Sally - now that I’m learning more about the spiritual side of yoga, it was a lovely time to dedicate to myself and to contextualise why we do certain postures, and the extra tools we can use to contribute to our practise such as breathwork and journalling. I’ve even kept up the journalling throughout the week and intend to continue it - I’ve been meaning to start journalling again for a while but Sally gave me the push I needed! She offered some insights into astrology but also doesn’t push this aspect as everyone has different views or levels of interest in this side of yoga - I personally love learning more about it!

“I completed Sally’s Introduction to Yoga and attended some of her free webinars which were all very informative , but easy to understand. Sally is very knowledgeable , calm and a great yoga teacher! Sally’s course helped me carve time for myself. She has a calm presence and gives good and clear explanations to how and also why we do poses and the benefits. I felt especially drawn to the Nidra part slowing down is something I struggle with. I’ve done yoga on and off so the weekly emails and course really helped me make it a part of my week. I cant always make set times to classes, so access the videos was great as and when needed. Again I’ve dipped in and out of journal but having weekly prompts were extremely beneficial, I didn’t think I would make time, it often feels selfish to make time for myself but I benefited greatly from the physical aspect of yoga and the relaxation too.

“I really really enjoyed it. It was such a lovely course.
I really liked the different journalling questions each week and the different things they focused on.
I found the questions that focused on things you’re proud of and grateful for the most interesting and challenging. Think in life there’s a larger focus on negatives and focus on things you’ve not done instead of the stuff you have. I really liked the intention setting focus as well. Found that really positive and a good thing to focus on and to have a main focus and priority. Thank you again for doing the course. The videos were really good, it was nice to be able to do the practice at home in my own time. The yoga nidra videos were really really good, used them to settle into sleep and relax for the night a few times! Definitely feel like i’ve progressed in my practice, feel more confident and stronger with the postures too. It has definitely made me more interested in the theories behind yoga, when you talk about the channels in our bodies and different postures focusing on different meridians etc”

“I attended Sally’s half day autumn retreat at Christ Church South Manchester. It was ruddy lovely! Space was great and during these Covid times Sally adopted all the measures possible. I felt very comfortable as there was loads of space between each of the participants and I liked that we brought our own props. The day was relaxing, informative on women’s wellbeing and gave space to be with yourself for whatever you needed at the time. Sally provided cacao, which is always a heart expanding experience!
